MOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has demanded that media do not cite anonymous sources spreading false or misleading information about the Sputnik V vaccine, the fund said in a statement on Thursday.
“Information attacks on the Sputnik vaccine based on unreliable and misleading information from anonymous sources have become more frequent in the media. … RDIF asks the media … to rely on the official position of regulators in the articles on important vaccine-related topics,” the statement read.
The fund explained the attacks by the fact that Sputnik Light is far more effective than its foreign counterparts.
“Sputnik Light shows 10 times stronger immunity at antibody and T-cell levels after 8 months than mNDC vaccines,” the fund said.
Reuters news agency reported quoting a source, the EU regulator’s decision to use the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus could be made in the first quarter of next year.
On Wednesday, RDIF Director Kirill Dmitriev said that the fund expects WHO’s approval of the vaccine in the next two months.
